 In studies conducted on HT22 cells, CMS-121 has demonstrated significant neuroprotective effects. It effectively protects these cells from ischemia and oxidative damage.  The ability of CMS-121 to protect neuronal cells suggests its potential in combating ischemic diseases and oxidative stress-induced neurological disorders. Additionally, CMS-121 exhibits significant anti-inflammatory properties, indicating its ability to modulate inflammatory responses. By doing so, CMS-121 has the potential to reduce inflammation in various tissues and organs, potentially treating inflammatory diseases. Additionally, CMS-121 has potent antioxidant activity that can counteract damage caused by oxidative stress. Preliminary studies in rapidly aging SAMP8 mice show promising results with CMS-121. Oral administration of CMS-121 over 4 months reduced cognitive decline, improved metabolic markers, and attenuated transcriptional markers associated with brain aging. Additionally, CMS-121 was found to maintain mitochondrial homeostasis by regulating acetyl-CoA metabolism.
